Silver and Gold Have I None As Peter and John approached the temple gate called Beautiful, a man unable to walk from birth looked at them, expecting to receive a small coin. Peter looked intently at him, as did John, and said: 'Look at us.' The man fixed his attention on them, expecting some money. But Peter said: 'Silver and gold have I none, but what I have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!' Walking and Leaping and Praising God Peter took him by the right hand and raised him up. Immediately his feet and ankles were made strong! Leaping up, he stood and began to walk, entering the temple courts with Peter and John, walking, leaping, and praising God with unrestrained joy! All the people saw him praising God, recognizing him as the beggar from the gate, and were filled with wonder. Giving Glory to Jesus As a large crowd rushed together in Solomon's Colonnade, Peter addressed them: 'Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this, or why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or godliness we made him walk? The God of our fathers glorified his servant Jesus!' Peter made sure everyone knew that it was faith in Jesus' name that gave this man perfect health, calling everyone to repent and turn to God.
