Israel arrived at Kadesh-barnea on the border of Canaan. God commanded Moses to send twelve leaders, one from each tribe, to scout out the land. Exploring the Promised Land Twelve men walked through Canaan for forty days. They found a land flowing with milk and honey, just as God had promised! The fruit was so massive that two men had to carry a single cluster of grapes on a pole between them, along with pomegranates and figs. The Fearful Report When they returned, ten spies cried in fear: "The land is good, but the people are giant warriors! Their cities have walls that touch the sky! We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes and to them!" Panic swept through the camp, and the people wept all night. Courage to Trust God Caleb and Joshua tore their clothes and spoke boldly: "The land is exceedingly good! If the Lord delights in us, he will bring us into this land and give it to us. Do not fear the people of the land, for their protection is gone, and the Lord is with us!" Joshua and Caleb saw the giants, but they saw God who is infinitely bigger!
